The Shift

Another special project—held at the underground performance space of The Drake (a popular Toronto boutique hotel)—posed the question, “Is another world possible?” Our answer was a collaborative production between musicinthebarns and filmmaker Ayelen Liberona, in which we presented a quartet of short films, starring the influential modern dance choreographer Margie Gillis. musicinthebarns’ string ensemble performed live with both the inventive Toronto beatboxer Balu Ballistic, and LAL (an electronic musicians’ collective led by Rosina Kazi and Nicholas Murray).
